FAQ: Massage Fort Collins - We Answer Commonly Asked Questions
Whitley L
Do you accept HSA/FSA cards for massage therapy?
Yes, we accept these cards! Please bring the physical card to your appointment as we are unable to hold those cards on file in our scheduling system. We will need a physical card to check you out at the end of your session.
Parking Availability:
We are located in a medical park behind the hospital. There are plenty of parking spaces in front of our office, oftentimes front row! Come get your massage at our convenient Fort Collins location.
What should I wear to my massage session?
Whatever you would like! We have clients coming from work, enjoying their day off, and just about everything in between. We encourage you to be comfortable so you can continue your relaxation beyond your session!
Do I have to fully undress for my session?
Nope! Your massage therapist will remind you to undress to the level of your comfort, which looks different for everyone. Your licensed massage therapist at Height of Health Massage will leave the room for you to get undressed and under the sheets on the table. This is to provide you a safe space to remove as much, or as little, as you would like. You will be draped for the entirety of your session, with only the area being worked on at the time, undrapped. If you have questions about what that process looks like, don’t hesitate to ask our experienced massage therapists!
Can I get a massage if I am sore from physical activity?
Yes, It can often be helpful to receive a massage to help with muscle soreness and tension. By increasing circulation, reducing inflammation, and releasing those “feel-good” endorphins, massage can be very effective in recovering from muscle soreness. Be sure to communicate with your massage therapist to make sure the pressure level is comfortable and enjoyable.
If there is an injury you are healing from that caused that soreness, it is important to wait 24 - 48 hours after an injury before coming in for a massage. Ice and rest up to reduce inflammation before coming in for a session to avoid further irritation/injury.
What will your first visit look like?
When you arrive you will be greeted by one of our staff members who will provide you with your intake form to complete. Once completed, your massage therapist will review it with you to gain a better understanding of your goals for the session. This intake is usually only a few minutes, and allows for you, as the client, to ask any questions you may have before the session. Once your intake is complete, your massage therapist will leave the room for you to undress to the level of your comfort and get onto the table and under the sheets. They will be washing their hands and filing your intake before knocking on the door for permission to enter the room again. At that point, your session will begin. Every massage therapist runs their sessions a bit differently, but this is the time for you to focus on your breathing and enjoy your massage!
Once the session has come to an end, your massage therapist will leave the room. It is at this point that you will be able to slowly get back up, get dressed, and fix any stay hairs or makeup smears that may have happened during your relaxing session. Once you are ready, you can meet your massage therapist back at the front for them to talk you through what they may have found and any recommendations that they may have. Your payment will be processed, and you’re done!
Will it be painful?
Massage therapy should not be painful! There are different levels of pressure that a massage therapist can use, and rotate through in a session. This creates that “good hurt” feeling that is often talked about. That “good hurt” feeling usually sits at about a 5 - 7 out of 10 on the pain scale, but may look different for each client. At no point should it become unbearable, painful, or hurtful. If at any point you become uncomfortable with the pressure being used, please speak up to your Fort Collins massage therapist and ask for an adjustment. This is your session, we encourage you to help us tailor it to you!
